Galaxy League Summer Camp Snapshots
At the beginning of the summer, your
daughter was tasked with helping Earth
pass a series of interplanetary tests.
Her class must provide an answer to a
weekly question posed by planets from
the Galaxy League. One may ask about our
weather, another about our athletic
events. If Earth passes all tests we
will become a member of the elite Galaxy
League.
7:30 a.m. —
It’s Monday morning and your daughter
rushes over to her friends the minute
she enters her classroom. What did this
week's planet ask? What adventures
await?
9:10 a.m. —
Message decoding time! This week’s
message is in "Tornadaton," the official
language of Planet Tornadaton. Your
daughter and her class decipher the
question.
10:15 a.m. —
Beings of Planet Tornadaton live in the
core of their planet and know nothing
about weather. They ask your daughter
and her class to tell them all there is
to know about rain, wind, sun, hail,
clouds, thunder and lightning. It is
going to be a busy week.
11:00 a.m. —
If your daughter’s class is going to
study the weather, they will need a list
of all different kinds of weather the
Earth experiences.
12:15 p.m. —
Galaxy League hopefuls need their
energy. Your daughter and her friends
fuel up on a nutritious lunch.
2:10 p.m. —
What about snow? They gather to make
“Summer Flakes” — a fluffy, cool, sticky
substance that they can offer as a test
example.
4:35 p.m. —
Computer games help your daughter study
weather. She and her friends prepare to
answer Planet Tornadaton's question.
5:40 p.m. —
When you enter the classroom to pick up
your daughter, her teacher hands you a
field trip permission slip — Wednesday
to the science museum and Thursday, a
visit to a meteorology center — more
exciting days with TutorTime.
